Due to the unpredictability of the Covid-19 world we are living in at the moment SNEFA have decided to cancel the live clinic and contest for 2020.

However,  SNEFA IS STILL HOLDING A MAIL-IN CONTEST!
Cash prizes, ribbons, division championships and goodies will still be awarded.
The shoes are still the same, make all four in your division, make sure to include appropriate nails with each shoe!

The Shoe List is posted on the website https://www.snefa.org/news and on Facebook.

Entry fee is $50.  The more people who participate, the more money we will be able to give out.
Entries must be received by August 1st.

PLEASE, PLEASE make sure you have a piece of paper with a READABLE name, return address and contact phone number in the box with your shoes.

Ben Mangan will be judging them the weekend of August 8th, and they will be mailed back to you, along with Ben's comments and awards sometime the following week.

Hopefully next year we will be able to have a live contest at Goshen again.  Until then be well, I hope to get your entry and if you are still pursuing Certification, SNEFA is hosting one at Ocean State Equine September 12-13, 2020.

Clinic and Contest Entry fee is $200, Saturday Clinic only participation is $100 REGISTRATION must be received by June 1st, along with a $50 deposit.
If you do not pre-register, you will not be allowed to bring your equipment onto the

fairgrounds!!

Arrival between 8 and 9 AM to set up stations/rigs
9-11 warm-up, forging practice, questions
11 AM - Ben will be doing a shoeing demo
Afternoon forging practice time and Ben can help competitors. Set up teams for live shoeing

Eagle Eye - 30 minutes

Novice makes a Keg shoe, Intermediate makes a plain stamped, Open makes a three quarter fullered

SUNDAY

Arrival between 7:30 and 8:15 AM to set up stations/rigs Judge’s meeting at 8:30 AM
Appropriate nail in all shoes

9 AM
Class 1 - 1 hour 15 minutes

Novice- pair of toe clipped fronts, one from a size 1 Kahn Certifier Kegger and one plain stamped.

Intermediate - Concave front with Bob Punched toe clip and hunter heels 13” x 7/16 x 3/4 - plain stamped hind with lateral french heel 11” x 3/8 x 1

Open - Deep seated graduated shoe, 10” 1/2 x 1
- fully fullered hind, masselotte toe clip 12” x 3/8 x 3/4

10:30
Class 2 - 1 hour 30 minutes

Novice - using size 1 Kahn Certifier Keggers make a pair of bob punched toe clipped fronts and a pair of quarter clipped hinds.

Intermediate - plain stamped bar shoe with laid out masselotte toe clip, 15” x 3/8 x 3/4 - plain stamped, toe clipped, open heeled shoe to pair the bar shoe

Open - Deep seated, three quarter fullered, hammer finished straight bar 14-1/2” x 3/8 x 3/4 - Plain stamped hind, masselotte toe clip 10-1/2” x 3/8 x 1

Class 3 - TEAM Shoeing 2 hours
Teams of 3, must include at least 1 novice, will shoe two feet and turn in 3 specimens. Specimens will be determined on the day, but will come from the shoe list.
